STRICTLY HOUSE MUSIC
Early 2009 saw two of Londons hardest working DJs on the underground House scene come together to form the movement that is SE7EN...
Scholar Tee & Teaser DJ decided that having worked the london clubs for a combined few years, they wanted to launch a night themselves, where a wide spectrum of House music could be enjoyed by their fellow listeners and supporters. Scholar Tee had a massive following from playing fresh Soulful Funky House from the UK and US alike. Scholar always found it very important to share great music from homegrown producers and artists. He had also successfully managed his residency event for 2 years prior to the SE7EN movement. Teaser DJ was also a key player in Londons Underground House scene, playing at most of the prominent events and clubs around at that time. Teaser's style was and still is Deep, Soulful House. He built up his respect and followers from his series of mix CD compilations that were circulating around London and surrounding counties. Together they formed TST Promotions (Teaser & Scholar Tee Promotions).
The concept was simple. Collectively the two played alot of sub genres within House and once added up these totalled to SE7EN >
Deep-Tech :: Soulful :: Funk :: Afro :: Minimal :: Upfront :: Broken Beats
At each event special guest DJs would be selected to showcase their House styles and effect one or more of the said genres.
The launch night kicked off on Sunday 16th August 2009 @ Club Couture, London. There was an immediate response to the efforts and the night was well received by the masses. A further three successful nights took place that year seeing the crowd grow steadily each time. A three month winter hibernation break then followed & SE7EN returned with The Valentine's Affair in February 2010. SE7EN had definately made its mark on Londons Underground House scene.
Teaser DJ & Scholar Tee needed time to focus on their own individual projects and so they held the 2010 Anniversary/Finale Edition. The night was attended by a lot of industry friends and partygoers who were sad to hear SE7EN was taking a timeout. There was many calls to not let the movement cease to an end but being a joint venture the movement had to be put on hold.
Nevertheless, due to popular demand, TST decided to bring back SE7EN in 2011!
So far this year, we have held parties in February, March, May, July & most recently our 2nd year & Teaser DJ's birthday special at CC2 Club Vauxhall on 23.09.2011.
All in all, the response to our return has been MASSIVE & we now aim to branch out into other areas within the music industry starting with the record label launch in early 2012. More events are in the pipeline so be sure to keep an eye on the movement! For now, make sure you do not miss out on partying to SE7EN sub-genres of House music.
OUR NEXT PARTY IS ON FRIDAY 23rd DECEMBER @ CC2 CLUB VAUXHALL WITH SPECIAL GUEST DJ/PRODUCER
'ATJAZZ'
Hopefully we'll see you in a club near you soon :)
